RESPONSIBILITIES
Recognizing that this position’s functions and embraces a broad range of roles and responsibilities, it is important to note that not all functions are contained within this posting, and the position itself will be ever-changing and adaptive. Nevertheless, specific roles and responsibilities allocated to this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Coordinate and manage a team of volunteers to help promote SCSU events and programming through virtual and in-person outreach strategies.
Work to recruit volunteers for promotion initiatives.
Work with partnering clubs/organizations to ensure cohesive outreaching is taking place.
Design and implement online outreach strategies on various social media platforms.
Create post-event analyzes on what worked and didn’t work for outreaching for the event.
Schedule, train, and oversee student volunteers.
Assist in developing class talk scripts and social media content to help promote events.
Work to come up with various creative outreach techniques and ideas.
Support with various SCSU events and programming as required.
Connect with SCSU Staff regarding maintenance and allocation of club lockers.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Proficiency using Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
Able to maintain the utmost professionalism and operate within an anti-oppressive framework.
Previous experience outreaching to students on campus.
Experience in volunteer recruitment.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of individuals.
Strong problem solving abilities.
Strong communication skills.
Able to come up and implement creative ideas.
Team building and leadership skills.
DESIRED ATTITUDES
Highly motivated and dedicated individual that is enthusiastic about events and programming put on by the SCSU.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and pressured environment.
Familiarity with major clubs and organizations on campus.
Highly organized, and able to meet demands on time.
Knowledge of other languages other than English is an asset.
