Reports To Internal Coordinator
The Scarborough Campus Students’ Union (SCSU) is the not-for-profit organization that represents all full-time and part-time undergraduate students at the University of Toronto Scarborough and provides to its members a broad range of advocacy, services and events.
POSITION SUMMARY
Recognizing that the function of the Members’ Service Staff is to embrace a broad range of roles and responsibilities of the SCSU operation, it is important to note that not all functions are contained within this position description, and the position itself will be ever-changing and adaptive. Nevertheless, specific roles and responsibilities allocated to this position include, but are not limited to the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to SCSU Live Chat student inquiries, including scheduling appointments and dedicatedly responding to student requests
Assisting students and educating student on the SCSU Health and Dental Plan
Sales of various tickets, including but not limited to SCSU events, TTC Presto fares etc.
Facilitating Posting on SCSU Poster Boards
Promoting SCSU initiatives and campaigns
Awareness and sensitivity to issues including, but not limited to: trans/bi/homophobia, sexism, racism, ageism etc.
Knowledge about the Scarborough Campus Students’ Union including, but not limited to their services, events and campaigns.
Customer Service Experience
Cash Register, Point of Sale experience and till balancing
Inventory taking
Printing and Faxing Experience
Composing of letters
Booking Rooms, Tables & Equipments
Answering the telephone, taking messages, replying to general inquiry emails.
Being flexible and cooperative in helping to keep the SCSU office running smoothly and efficiently
Possess knowledge of operating systems, Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
Attention to detail
Manage Student Centre booking schedules and rooms
Must possess a professional and diligent work ethic with University of Toronto Scarborough students and staff
In consultation with the Internal Coordinator, keep the office and reception area clean
Assisting with tasks assigned by the Internal Coordinator.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Able to work a flexible work schedule to meet office and live chat operating hours
Effective communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Able to operate effectively in a fast paced environment
Previous experience is a definite asset
Great understanding of SCSU Services & Operations

Highly organized, and able to meet demands on time.
