What kind of activities require a booking of the Meeting Place? Can I just use tables in the Meeting Place without booking them if they are available?

|No. Any time you plan to engage in ANY of the following activities, a booking form must be submitted:
• Any activity designed to promote an organization, offer commodities for purchase (regardless of whether or not the proceeds are for a charitable organization/enterprise), or having as its primary goal activities other than academic work, informal socializing or personal relaxation requires a booking request be made.
• Any group wishing to occupy the Meeting Place while displaying signs, banners or other paraphernalia bearing the logo of any organized group (including student clubs) must make a booking request.
• Groups found to be engaging in any of the above activities without having acquired the necessary approval will be asked to leave immediately. A second infraction will result in the suspension of booking privileges. A third infraction may result in the revoking of official club recognition.
If a table is unoccupied in the Meeting Place, please do NOT just take it to set up. Groups who have booked the space will arrive and believe that the space they have booked is not available. They then issue complaints to the SCSU or Student Affairs. Just because no one approached you to give up the space does not mean that no one actually came looking for it.
