Conference & Social activity space |
The SCSU reserves free of charge all conference and social activity space in the Student Centre for recognized UTSC clubs, organizations, and individual students. Eligible parties may book space a maximum of ten (10) days in advance of use. A minimum of $20 must be deposited before being allowed to take possession of a room key. Advanced bookings can also be made in instances where the club, organization, or student can demonstrate that special arrangements are needed. Please take note of the following policies: - Only T-Card identification and cash will be accepted for deposits. No drivers' licenses, bank cards or credit cards will be accepted. Deposits will only be returned to the person who left it.
- Keys, projectors and other borrowed equipment must be returned within the following time periods: If during SCSU office hours, five minutes after the scheduled end time; if outside SCSU office hours, at 9am the next business day if another group has the room booked that morning, or 9:30am the next business day if there is no booking for the morning.
- Failure to return keys/equipment on time will result in a loss of the cash deposit. A three-strike rule will be followed; after three late returns your group may lose its booking privileges.
All meeting and social activity space can be booked from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 11:00 pm. The maximum room capacities are as follows (subject to posted maximums as per building regulations): - SL-219 (Meeting Room): 10 people
- SL-222 (Green Roof Room): 14 people
- SL-232 (SCSU Board Room): 50 people
- SL-234 (Scotia Bank Employees' Club Centre): 30 people
- SL-279 (Prayer Room): 30 people
- SL-281 (Prayer Room): 30 people
- SL-283 (Alumni Lounge): 30 people
Most rooms are equipped with phones and whiteboards. In the Scotia Bank Employees' Club Centre, a computer and a fax machine are also made available by the SCSU. Markers for the whiteboards and projectors are available from the SCSU office for the duration of the student organization meetings. Special arrangements for the reservation of the Multi-Faith Prayer Rooms located on the second floor of the Student Centre can be made through the VP Students & Equity.
