The SCSU had requested Administration to install power plugs in the H-wing; these will be completed soon. As such, the SCSU partnered with publishing companies in order to gather course textbooks on a reserve system. The service is available to students Mondays from 12-7pm, and Tuesdays to Fridays from 10-7pm. The procedure involves a simple deposit of your T-Card, which allows students to take the course textbook on reserve for 3-4 hours in the Scotia bank Room, SL -234. If you would like more information on this service, please email Aisha Khaja. Credit/No Credit OptionThe SCSU, in collaboration with the Administration, were able to pass the Credit/No Credit Option at the Academics Committee. Writing Centre HoursWriting Centre hours of operations, and the availability of appointments proved to be a concern for students at UTSC. As such, the SCSU and the Writing Centre collectively arranged for a schedule to meet student’s academic concerns. Now, the Writing Centre has increased hours of operation and number of appointments that are available for students. Academic AmnestyThe SCSU gathered Academic Amnesty for all classes for the day of action on November 5th 2009, through the cooperation of the administration. The SCSU recognizes this to problematic for students and now holds regular DSA Council meetings. These meetings allow DSAs an avenue to update and collaborate with the surrounding UTSC community. Students are more than welcome to attend any of these meetings. The SCSU is hoping for an early release of exam schedules during the final exam period as well. Other ProjectsSCSU projects in the works include course syllabus repository, exam database, research opportunities, study space, production of the anti-calendar, and much more.
