Many students felt that this course should remain an essential requirement for the English department. Although there is a lot of reading material for this course, students found it informative. The methods of testing were questionable (ie. Multiple choice), but Professor Bolus-Reichert's teaching style was exemplary.

Students enjoyed Professor Bolus-Reichert's enthusiasm and ability to clearly explain difficult concepts. Nevertheless, students felt that it was sometimes difficult to take proper notes during lecture as the professor spoke fairly quickly. Further, they found it rather difficult to follow lectures as primary source material, literary criticism, and literary history were all discussed in tandem.

Students agreed that Professor Bolus-Reichert is an excellent and enthusiastic professor. Her lectures were very informative and detailed. Many students appreciated the un-costly text book that professor had created. The course was overall a great experience for many, yet some students felt that the excessive amount of reading and weekly quizzes could have been replaced.
