Students found the professor to be very helpful, enthusiastic and approachable. Some felt that having assigned work due every class helped them stay on top of their work, while others thought it was too much of a load. Some students thought that the required texts for the course were not very useful, since they were not used at all. Overall, students enjoyed the class discussions and had a great learning experience.

Students felt that Professor Yang was very enthusiastic and engaging. Nonetheless, many would have appreciated it had he better structured his lectures and focused less on class discussion. Further, students felt that the course placed too great an emphasis on poetry as opposed to other forms of writing.
