Students in this course were quite favourable about Professor Wilder personally as well as the quality of her instruction. A couple questioned the role of the course itself in the English curriculum (probably reflected in the low value accorded to the course) and felt that it might be positioned better in terms of content in relation to other courses.

Most students responded very well to Professor Wilder and appreciated her insights into the material covered. Some felt the volume of material was too great leading to superficial coverage of some books and a few others commented that they weren't sure how much reading needed to be covered before each class. Despite these few complaints, however, students approved of the course and instruction.
