While appreciating his competence, some students report the professor is difficult to approach. Several cite the three hour lecture as daunting and too long for this course.

Even though the students found this to be a very hard course, they believe that the professor was excellent with his explanations which make the content as clear as possible. This is one of those courses where the value of the tutorials is very very high, and working through the assignments aids immensely.

The instructor's knowledge of the subject material was evident. However, he went through lecture material very fast and students felt overwhelmed. Material was difficult to understand, so assignments took a lot of time. Students wished they had seen more examples in class.

Students found that Vassos did a good job with teaching in that he explained the concepts clearly and that he is very knowledgeable. This is a challenging class in which one must keep up with the material and not count on the teaching assistants providing much insight. Assignments may not be returned before the next assignment is due.
