Students noted Professor Cheng to be an excellent professor, because of his use of "non-textbook" examples used in lectures. However, students would have preferred if Professor Cheng engaged the entire class in assignment/tutorial discussions, as opposed to focusing on a few enthusiastic individuals. The class also noted that the intranet was not the best way to facilitate an online discussion.

Overall the student believed although Professor Cheng was a fair and knowledgeable teacher, the course itself was too difficult. The bonus scheme idea he implemented was not helpful at all, since the bonus was ineffective in helping the majority of the class, and the interface for the online group discussions needed work. The students recommend using a forum instead.
