A few students commented that the lab component of the course was demanding and that they would have appreciated it had the professor posted lecture notes prior to class. Otherwise, respondents felt that the instructor was very personable, and thoroughly explained the course material.

Students praised Professor Sauer for her enthusiasm, knowledge and sincerity and felt that she had a lot to offer in terms of enlightening students about the future, present and past perspectives of genomics. While the course covered a lot of material, students felt that the organized lectures and good teaching style made it easy to follow. Some students also felt that having different formats for each of the assignments was an interesting approach.
