Many students in this course responded favorably to Professor Corbett's endless enthusiasm and felt it made up for any other shortcomings. Some felt that grading expectations were not made clear and there was some disconnect between Professor Corbett's expectations and grading done by the TA. Others were not pleased with a grade that rested entirely on two exams (45/55) and respected a greater diversity of assessment.

Students in this course had a few complaints relating to the course and content, mostly in reference to the text, which they did not feel was effective. Almost everyone respects Professor Corbett for his enthusiasm for the subject, however, and found that contagious. One student even described him as the "reason why I show up for school on Mondays." Several students noted that he occasionally digresses far from the material at hand and while that is probably some of his appeal for students who respond to that others felt somewhat lost by the style.

Depending on the individual student this is found to be either very personal and engaging or else a bit confusing.
