Students generally enjoyed this course, but there were many concerns over the large amount of class material that needed to be covered in the short lecture period, which sometimes meant that there was no break in the 2-hour lecture. Some felt that posting notes online would have helped them. Students found Professor Webster to be very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful.

Students report that there was a great deal of content to this course but with the help and support of Professor Webster, who was generous with her time, they were able to make the most of it. Most considered this a very valuable course and several students indicate that Professor Webster inspired them to give art history a greater role in their studies.

Most students thought that Professor Webster was an amazing professor who was helpful and engaging. Students enjoyed the field trips organized by the professor and would prefer to have more. Some students commented that longer lecture hours would be preferable for the course materials to go more in depth. However, some students felt that the textbook readings were hard and confusing to understand at times.

Students were very enthusiastic about Professor Webster as an instructor and found the material in this course interesting. Almost all their criticism was reserved for the required texts, which many found either too numerous, too expensive, or felt that the total volume of reading was simply too high. Other than this concern, however, they were quite pleased.

Quite a few students felt that with the large number of slides being used by the course some better means of organization might be helpful, and some suggested having them available on-line through the intranet.

Students enjoyed the course because they found Professor Webster to be very passionate. The professor was exceptional at explaining ideas and introducing new concepts. Students also thought that the idea of providing websites on material outside of lecture was very interesting. However, some students were concerned about the participation marks being weighted too heavily. In addition, few students did not like the textbook being used in the course as it was very vague.

Overall students enjoyed the course and found that the hands-on approach was the best approach for this course – they enjoyed Professor Webster taking them on trips to museums and galleries. However, some students thought that was not enough time to cover all the materials and would have found it better to have two separate theory and practical classes.
