Because of the abundant amount of course material, Professor McMurran's lectures are quite fast and she covers a lot of information in one class. Perhaps a multimedia approach to the lectures would have made the learning process easier. Students thought that the mid-term was quite difficult and covered material not emphasized in class.

Students in this course commented that Professor McMurran's lecture style was often quite hurried and while some students appreciated the pace others felt it was leaving them too little time to keep up to speed. Various concerns were expressed regarding the grading structure, with too little time allowed for the midterm, too much weight placed on the final (50%), and too much time taken to grade and return work. Still, students were quite pleased with the course as a whole, and many expressed their desire to see the course continue at UTSC and were concerned that it might not with the elimination of the minor program offering in Classics.
