Students thought Professor Grinnell demonstrated an outstanding ability to teach. They thought he was extremely enthusiastic in teaching the material required, was always available to answer their questions and had extremely organized lecture notes which made attending lectures very important. Students felt that tutorials should have been longer, and that TAs should concentrate more on teaching material covered in class than giving quizzes.

Overall, students found Professor Grinnell to be an excellent lecturer who demonstrates a great passion for mathematics, often quoted as being “one of the best professors at UTSC”. They appreciated the fact that he gave reasons why the math exists and is relevant to management students. They also appreciated the online lectures, giving them a chance to review concepts missed. One suggestion students have for Professor Grinnell is to make sure the multiple choice section on exams is graded with more care and given less weight on exams.

Professor Grinnell was repeatedly described as one of the greatest instructors at UTSC. Students appreciated the humour and passion he incorporated into his lectures, crediting his thorough and clear teaching style with making the dreaded mathematics enjoyable at 8:00 am. Many also found the content of the course difficult but enjoyed it nonetheless due to the many hours of extra-help Professor Grinnell was willing to provide for his students. The majority agreed that they would rather not take any more math courses, however, would do so if Professor Grinnell was the instructor.

Students expressed a great regard for the passion and evident effort Professor Grinnell brought to this course and praised his skills as a lecturer. Many comment that he allowed extensive time outside of the classroom for individual consultation but some felt in his effort to allow for many personal appointment his focus was drawn away from open office hours, which might serve some students better. The 8am lecture time drew the usual criticisms.

Students in this class were characteristically enthusiastic about Professor Grinnell. After a few dozen repetitions of 'best professor I've ever had' that becomes pretty clear. Some scattered complaints reference the volume of material to be covered, the timing of the lecture (8am!) and Professor Grinnell's tendency to use his board space in a haphazard manner. But almost every criticism came in the same sentence along with high praise for the class and quality of instruction.

Students in this course were very enthusiastic about Professor Grinnell and appreciative of his lectures and ability as an instructor. Several students who did not anticipate top grades went out of their way to praise their professor and be clear that any lack of success was due to their failure to take full advantage of the instruction. The only repeated complaint a minor one relates to Professor Ginnell's odd habit of writing on the board from the right side to the left, which some students found difficult.

Students in this course were very appreciative of Professor Grinnell, and only requested that assignments be returned more quickly. Several commented that his lecture were so effective as to make the text redundant.

Overall, Professor Grinnell was described as enthusiastic, engaging and very helpful. Several students named him the best professor at U of T. Students enjoyed his lectures, although marking strategies were somewhat criticized for being too strict.

Students found Professor Grinnell to be very effective at holding their attention and communicating concepts through what they describe as a very difficult course. Most concerns relate to workload in the course but no one had any complaints with the instruction or the instructor, and in fact several students comment he was the one element that made the course manageable for them.
