There were very few negative comments about Professor Hetherington and his class. Students thought Professor Hetherington was passionate, knowledgeable, well-spoken and felt that he genuinely cared about them. Students were particularly impressed that this was his first time teaching, and appreciated hearing his personal experiences doing fieldwork. The course was well organized and the discussions, both in class and online, were very much appreciated by the majority of students, despite a large class (thus making discussions during lecture difficult). Some found the readings to be heavy for a first year course, but thought they were valuable and especially liked the ethnography selected.
