Students found Pancer to be a very good instructor. He had good explanations and was easy to understand. His lecture notes were very helpful. However, students found the large size of the class resulted in talking, that he was unwilling to address. Students with absolutely no programming experience found assignments very challenging. Students wished for more time with the TA's and 24 hours access to the computer lab.

Students in this course praised Professor Szamosi for his availability, extended office hours when assignments were due, and most found the material and course to be interesting. Many complained about a lack of preparation for classes, however, and felt that consistent technical problems and unavailable resources were inexcusable though they weren't entirely sure where to lay the blame for that. Several students noted that the on-line resources, especially the discussion forum, were vital for their success especially considering other difficulties and they appreciated the frequently same-day replies there.

Students in this course appreciated the commitment and availability of Professor Szamosi and felt he was genuinely interested in their success. They also felt, however, that the content of his lectures and in class material wasn't sufficient to prepare for the assignments, which seemed more advanced than what was covered in class. Students also referenced a basic problem in the course that was a requirement for some students who did not necessarily have any programming experience whereas others came in with considerable background.

Students report that the content of this course is particularly difficult but they do not fault the instructor, rather they credit Professor Hadzilacos with offering clear explanations that at least help to make the content clearer. While appreciating his competence, some students report the professor is difficult to approach. Several cite the three hour lecture as daunting and too long for this course.

Students found this course and the material very challenging and a number of comments suggest Professor Molloy was not as successful as he might have been at 'bringing it down' to an undergraduate level. Various suggestions include more detailed notes, clearer expectations regarding assignments, and more connection between the grading TA and work performed in class. A few students also suggest Professor Molloy was not sufficiently available outside of the classroom. His knowledge and experience was widely acknowledged, but students felt they weren't able to profit from it as much as they would have liked.

People found Rosselet to be a very knowledgeable professor in his field. He provided numerous examples and was found to be easily approachable. This course was found by students to be very useful, but beware of assignments as they take a long time and there is little to no feedback after completion. Many found that the volume of material in this course warranted the course being split in two.

Students appreciated Professor Koudas' organization and ability. A few students commented that examples given in class were often too trivial to be easily applied to later work.

Student feedback on this course focused on suggestions to improve the lecture format and while recommendations differ there was widespread agreement that something was lacking. Students suggested everything from more detailed slides to more examples to notes available before class to longer tutorials. Students did not find particular fault with Professor Enright or his dedication as an instructor they just had trouble responding to his lectures.

The lectures in this course were theoretical in nature and had concepts that were hard to grasp. The students found that more examples were necessary especially the numerical kind. Overall the student believed although Professor Cheng was a fair and knowledgeable teacher, the course itself was too difficult. The bonus scheme idea he implemented was not helpful at all, since the bonus was ineffective in helping the majority of the class, and the interface for the online group discussions needed work. Students appreciated the numerous examples given in class. One final and one midterm accounting for 80% of mark was found to be overly stressful. Students warn that assignments are very challenging. Students appreciated Professor Malloy in this course and were very approving of the educational value of the course content. One student even suggested this should be a program requirement for all Computer Science students. The volume and difficulty of work, however, was a barrier to many, and several students noted that they could not prioritize this course in relation to their other work and commitments because there was simply too much work for too few marks per assignment.

Students? reactions to Professor Rosselet?s lecturing were mixed. Students felt that the questions in the lectures at the beginning of the term were helpful in highlighting the important points to study. However, some students felt that it was hard to distinguish the important information from the unimportant, as there is too much information to learn in a two-hour lecture. Others felt that the assignments were too similar, lengthy and easy, since the problems were similar to those from previous courses. One improvement students have for Professor Rosselet is to lecture only on the important points.

Students appreciated Professor Rosselet's lectures and his 'down to earth' style. Most of the class seemed to agree the work load for this class was extreme, however, and one cited that as much as 50% of his school time was spent on this course alone. No one disputes the value of the material but students requested it be condensed somehow.

Students found this course very useful, however, the material was said to be a lot for a half credit course. Students believed it would be more beneficial as a full course. Also, the written assignments were very long, but the professor makes up for the extensive workload by providing a comprehensive overview of all materials.
