Students found a lot of value in the readings for this course and felt Professor Kudsieh was a knowledgeable instructor with wide expertise. A number of students were disappointed with the organization of lectures and problems with equipment, however, and others felt that evaluation methods (especially matching questions) did not adequately test knowledge in a fair way. A few students felt that Professor Kudsieh had a tendency to dodge around questions rather than admit she simply didn't know something and address it later.

Because of the abundant amount of course material, Professor McMurran's lectures are quite fast and she covers a lot of information in one class. Perhaps a multimedia approach to the lectures would have made the learning process easier. Students thought that the mid-term was quite difficult and covered material not emphasized in class.

Still, students were quite pleased with the course as a whole, and many expressed their desire to see the course continue at UTSC and were concerned that it might not with the elimination of the minor program offering in Classics.

Students in this course had a few complaints relating to the course and content, mostly in reference to the text, which they did not feel was effective. Almost everyone respects Professor Corbett for his enthusiasm for the subject, however, and found that contagious. One student even described him as the "reason why I show up for school on Mondays." Several students noted that he occasionally digresses far from the material at hand and while that is probably some of his appeal for students who respond to that others felt somewhat lost by the style.

Students in this course were quick to note the experience and wealth of knowledge offered by Professor McDonald. Some students noted that the professor rebounded very quickly from an injury that side-lined him for part of the term without undue impact on the class, while others felt he was hard to reach during office hours and that marking was delayed, probably related to the same event. One student went out of the way to caution that this is 'very much a B-level course' and did not recommend the course to first year students.
