Professor Ungar is extremely funny and enthusiastic. He communicated the goals of course well while making the material fun. Students found his online and PowerPoint notes helpful and his examples were interesting and useful. His good real-life examples were easily applicable to every day life. The lectures were enjoyable but the professor can get a little sidetracked at times. Some did not like that the course was on Friday from 3 pm - 5 pm. Professor Mackinnon is humourous and makes the material interesting while providing good examples and solutions. Overall, students enjoyed his lectures and lecturing methods. Some feel that better organized lecture notes would make the lectures more beneficial. Also, since the tests were difficult that there should be more methods of evaluation to compose the overall grade. It is suggested that a course website be used for this course, as it would be very helpful for disseminating information. Some felt that overheads were not a good visual aid and that PowerPoint slides would be better. Some concerns are that he needs to speak slower, louder, and more articulate so that everything can be heard, and the lecture usually started late. In general, a great professor and an interesting course.

Students found most of the course time was focusing on the presentation, may be the professor could spend more time explained both assignment requirements and concepts, and more organized course material would be better. Office hours were very accessible but not very helpful, and the professor had an extremely high expectation for students.

Students appreciated this course and Professor Ezeonu's instruction. Some mentioned that for a seminar-style course the class was too large to allow for as much discussion as they would have liked. Students disagree as to the appropriate description of this course; some appreciated it as core sociology, others felt it was more like IDS, and one felt it was primarily economics. A few mentioned that multiple choice questions could get very specific. Most students felt the material was valuable and interesting, in any case.
