Most students in this class express a lot of personal regard for Professor Campbell and a few suggest he's one of the few (or only) instructors who could motivate them to show up at 9am. Some expressed various criticisms relating to the required to receive graded assignments back, the speed of the lectures (somewhat too fast) and a focus on memorizing terms rather than concepts. Overall, students’ evaluations of Professor McKenzie’s instruction were mixed. Students found her lecturing to be enthusiastic due to her experience in the field, and appreciated the guest lectures. However, most students took issue with the evaluation criteria cited in the course syllabus, stating that assignments should be worth more since they were assigned weekly and took a lot of time to complete. One suggestion students have for Professor McKenzie is to give clear and concrete expectations for the assignments in the form of a rubric or specific guidelines.

Overall, students found Professor Droge to be a competent instructor who is very knowledgeable about his field. They appreciated how approachable and insightful he was, and enjoyed how he used dramatic lecturing to demonstrate the point he was trying to make. However, some students took issue with the fact that he sometimes could be a little offensive in regards to the course content and texts, and suggest that he could communicate his point using a slightly different method. However, students found the course and instructor to be enjoyable and fair.

Students were very impressed with the amount of knowledge that Professor Knight has on the gospels. He demonstrated enthusiasm, and kept the course material interesting by relating it to different ideas, and by engaging students in group and class discussions. The TA for this class was found to be unfair while grading assignments; however James Knight took this into consideration, was very approachable and available for discussion, and ensured that grades were allocated fairly. The only minor concern students had was that the assignments be handed back earlier in order to get feedback for the next upcoming assignment.

Overall, students were impressed with Professor Duraiyappah's performance as he showed charisma, enthusiasm, and was communicative of the course needs. Many commented on the difficulty in the readings, especially for those without prior knowledge of Hinduism. The course follows many epic texts but despite the heavy workload, students felt the material was interesting enough to study (though a few said it would have been easier to manage if the course addressed a specific text). A few students noted that the professor would get sidetracked in discussions sometimes or would not follow the texts completely but his availability in office hours helped diminish problems regarding the understanding of texts. Almost all students praised the course for being useful on a personal level and that more Religion courses should be offered at UTSC.
