Students stated that Professor McCleary was a brilliant, enthusiastic, and engaging instructor. They felt that this was a great course, and appreciated the number of examples provided. However, they felt that there were too many handouts.

Several students praised Professor McCleary for having an infectious level of enthusiasm and he also proved to be quite helpful. The most common complaint was that the handwritten handouts were illegible and use of the Intranet would have been far more beneficial.

Students found Professor McCleary to be knowledgeable and experienced and record that he made the material accessible even to students not studying visual arts (those more interested in classics, for example) and as a result the course was a strong success. A few students express regret that Roman art was not afforded more time.
