Students were very pleased with Professor Bayer's unique style of teaching Physics. They were very appreciative of how the instructor made the basic foundations of Physics very clear to help students understand the material. One suggestion some students had were to improve the exam style by not having it as much worded (ambiguous) and by allotting more time for students to write the exams. Overall, students recommended this course to others because of his excellent teaching style. The tutorials were also very helpful as the homework questions were discussed thoroughly.

They felt he contributed a lot to their ability to grapple with the material, offering extensive time and availability, and they single out their tutorial TA, Sergei Kruglov, for similar praise. Students were far less happy with the quality of their lab supervision and felt it was far less encouraging to work in their labs as a result. Although a required course for most students, several mentioned they found the material more engaging than expected, as a result of quality instruction.
