Students found Professor LeBoutellier to be approachable and helpful, and the course to be an interesting and valuable learning experience. However, some expressed dissatisfaction with assignment instructions, and discrepancies between the TA and professor grading criteria. Many would have appreciated a marking scheme to help clarify assignment expectations.

Overall, students agreed that Professor LeBoutillier was well organized and enjoyed taking the course. Also, some students appreciated the skills that they learned from the course. However, some students stated that miscommunication with the TAs of course led to some difficulties that could have been avoided.

Students found Professor LeBoutillier to be a wonderful instructor. They found the course experience to be excellent and the learning to be fun. However, many felt that the Teaching Assistant in the course did not adequately communicate information to students, nor stated clear expectation on what to include in the final paper. Many felt the need for more helpful feedback on assignments and more organized lab sessions. Nevertheless, students found this course to provide a good foundation for future research by giving excellent practice in scientific skills and an insight into lab settings.

However, most felt that there was insufficient communication between the professors and the course Teaching Assistant, especially regarding assignment expectations and grading. Most students felt that the course T.A. did not grade assignments fairly, was unresponsive and unhelpful.

Students were very appreciative of Professor Leboutillier's lecturing skills, as she taught the challenging, but interesting content in an enthusiastic, organized, an interesting manner. Some students expressed that the professor instead of the TAs should mark the exam papers. The labs were very enjoyable and helped the students to understand many concepts that would equip them for future neuroscience courses and careers.

The applicability and hands-on aspect of the course made it a wonderful experience for those involved. Petit was a supportive and encouraging supervisor. All individuals involved in the laboratory exercise worked effectively and constructively as a team. The undergraduate research experience was very much recommended by students.
