Had it not been for the involvement of Professor Laurence (who has been shown to be generally well liked in most of the courses he presides over), most students would have found this course insufferable. Students registered the same three complaints repeatedly, the biggest one being that Professor Laurence (or the TA in some cases) did not give adequate feedback. A large number of comments stated that some students felt the marking of assignments and exams was far too subjective. A few also said that the assignments and the midterm should have been connected better to what was discussed in class. Despite the complaints, however, most agreed that Professor Laurence is still a great professor to have.
