Overall, students were pleased with Professor Chan's teaching ability and style. They appreciated his emphasis on practical examples as opposed to proofs during lecture. Assignments were helpful. However many students suggested that they should consist of a greater number of questions to assist in preparation for evaluations. Students also found tutorials to be an asset to this course.

Reactions to this course were mixed, with many students generally happy but many others expressing a variety of concerns. A few noted this course lacked exclusive office hours and might have benefited from time devoted only to this subject. A number of students observed that Professor Moore has been teaching this course for a long while and it shows but they were divided on the implications of this fact. Some found his depth of experience and practiced approach very helpful and reassuring, while others felt the course has become stale.

The assignments in this course were found to be way too difficult for the students. Don't count on the textbook, students found that is was not helpful. Students also found that although the examples were great for the assignments, there needed to be more examples to enhance the overall learning experience.

LilyWhite presented organized board notes and made the extra effort to ensure students understood the course concepts. The midterm and assignments were difficult and time consuming.
