Students expressed a great regard for the passion and evident effort Professor Grinnell brought to this course and praised his skills as a lecturer. Many comment that he allowed extensive time outside of the classroom for individual consultation but some felt in his effort to allow for many personal appointment his focus was drawn away from open office hours, which might serve some students better. Students in this class were characteristically enthusiastic about Professor Grinnell. After a few dozen repetitions of 'best professor I've ever had' that becomes pretty clear. Some scattered complaints reference the volume of material to be covered, the timing of the lecture (8am!) and Professor Grinnell's tendency to use his board space in a haphazard manner. But almost every criticism came in the same sentence along with high praise for the class and quality of instruction.

Students in this course were very enthusiastic about Professor Grinnell and appreciative of his lectures and ability as an instructor. Several students who did not anticipate top grades went out of their way to praise their professor and be clear that any lack of success was due to their failure to take full advantage of the instruction. The only repeated complaint a minor one relates to Professor Ginnell's odd habit of writing on the board from the right side to the left, which some students found difficult.
