Many students felt that Professor Chan did an excellent job communicating the many concepts in introductory calculus to students with varying abilities. They appreciated the extra help he would provide and the fact that he would adjust the pace of the class to meet student needs. Many students suggested however that he provide more examples during lecture and that he follow the text more closely. They felt that the use of a microphone and overhead slides would be very effective especially when classes are held in larger classrooms. Students also felt that evaluations were fair and adequately reflected the material that was being covered during lectures.

Generally students found Professor Chrysostomou to be a great instructor, who was nice, patient and very helpful in answering questions. Students appreciated her unique and enthusiastic teaching style in Calculus and liked the many examples she used in lectures. However, many noted the great difficulty of this course and found the exams to be very difficult. Students had no concerns with Professor Moore as a lecturer and reserved their comments for the administration of the course. A few commented that 8am is really just too early for a math course (or probably any course) and that the time of the lecture affected their ability to perform well or pay attention. Opinions were split on the value of weekly quizzes vs. assignments at keeping up with the material. But almost all agree the course was valuable and gave them what they need out of first year calculus.

All the students loved Professor Butscher's energy and excellent enthusiasm shown in teaching Calculus. This made the lectures interesting. Professor Butscher was of a great help during his office hours. They felt, however, that it would be beneficial if he gave more detailed examples and avoided skipping steps when explaining them. His lectures could be more organized and it would be appreciated if he slowed down his pace of teaching. Many students were not satisfied with the textbook used in this course, as it was not detailed enough and did not give sufficient examples.
