Students felt Professor Rockel brought dedication to the course and appreciated his use of mixed media. Complaints were few and minor, with a couple students noting considerable improvement and adaptation from the previous term. They also felt the material was of particular value and relevance.

Students in this course appreciated the experience and attentiveness of Professor Rockel and noted that he has an extremely good understanding of African history and effectively assumes an unbiased view of it. Students indicated that the breadth of the material could easily fill another hour or more every week.
