Students almost unanimously agreed that Professor Eksteins was one of the most outstanding professors they have come across at UTSC. They felt that his enthusiastic and truly inspiring attitude gave a whole new dimension to history.

Professor Eksteins has demonstrated his passion and enthusiasm for the course. Students would look forward attending his lectures and sense it has been an enjoyable experience for them. Some students felt that the assignments and exams should be weighted more fairly but nonetheless, it was a positive experience for the students.

Professor Eksteins' communication style and approach to the historical material is 'one of a kind,' noted students. Professor Erksteins was regarded by most students as one of the best professors of their undergraduate career. Many, however, were discouraged by the weighting of the essay (50%).

Professor Ecksteins is regarded by most students as one of the best Professors they've had. His enthusiasm for the course material is clear and his ability to paint a picture with words is appreciated by students. Many students however were turned off by the weighting of the essay (50%).

Students were very enthusiastic about this class and about Professor Eksteins, who excelled at holding their attention and generating interest in the material. Students praise his engaging style, which one student called the "Grand Performance of History." The only repeated criticism of this course was an excessive emphasis on one paper, worth 50%, which some felt was rather daunting.

Students in this class responded well to Professor Eksteins as a 'story teller' who engages history more as narrative than mere descriptive fact. The few complaints with this course relate to general dissatisfaction with the grading scheme and too great an emphasis placed on the one paper worth 50%. Some students requested tutorials for the course as a way of additionally engaging with the material.
