Many students enjoyed this class and found Professor Mittler to be very helpful insofar as she took the time to explain concepts thoroughly and graded work fairly. They also greatly appreciated the practical value of the class. However, some found the course material to be somewhat vague and, thus, would have liked it had the professor integrated a textbook, or some readings, into the course.

Students describe Professor Mittler as fair, knowledgeable, and approachable. The only concern raised was that she didn't make enough use of the whiteboard to write out words rather than spelling and saying them orally.

Some students in this course responded very well to what was described as a 'free form' environment, while others felt that a lack of structure did not make the best use of class time and perhaps either more direction or more time was needed. Students found the experience valuable though not, perhaps, what they expected. Patience was recommended as being the key to get full value out of this worthwhile course.
