He always ensured students understood the material by using communication strategies and providing simple examples. Students found the previous exam practices and the tutorials to be very helpful as well. They would have appreciated an assignment in addition to, or instead of a midterm, for a more even distribution of marks.

Overall, students found Professor Ahmed to be an effective instructor, using good examples reflective of the work covered in class. However, many students were dissatisfied with the method of evaluation proposed by Professor Ahmed, often citing that the midterms were too easy and unreflective to the material taught. The final was too hard, and students did not feel prepared based on the simplicity of the midterm. Thus, the one suggestion students have for Professor Ahmed is to balance student evaluation so that the midterm and final questions are fair, and not on different ends of the spectrum.

Overall, students felt that Professor Yu was an excellent instructor who was enthusiastic about the material that he clearly presented. They appreciated his examples which showed the practical use of the theory that was being learned. Some students, however, found the exams a little challenging. One suggestion students have for Professor Yu is to shorten the length of the tests/exams so it can be done in the allotted time.

Students enjoyed this course and note especially that it was remarkably interesting for a statistics course. Most felt Professor Yu did an exceptional job. Some were bothered by corrections that were necessary while writing exams but Professor Yu was fair about allowing extra time when required.
