Overall the student believed although Professor Cheng was a fair and knowledgeable teacher, the course itself was too difficult. The bonus scheme idea he implemented was not helpful at all, since the bonus was ineffective in helping the majority of the class, and the interface for the online group discussions needed work. The students recommend using a forum instead.

Overall, students found Professor Cheng to be an excellent instructor who injects enthusiasm into every lecture. They appreciate the fact that he is willing to spend time, even outside of office hours, to help students and answer their questions. However, some students did not enjoy the discussion board aspect of the course and suggest that Professor Cheng assign traditional assignments as a method of evaluation rather than the discussion board.

Although Professor Cheng is enthusiastic about the difficult material, students were unhappy with the variations between tutorials for participation marks, and the lack of formal solutions for assignments. Students also suggested that another program be used to facilitate online discussion/participation instead of the intranet.

Students found the workload heavy in this course, and a number were less than enthusiastic about the material itself, but most acknowledged the value and importance of the class. Professor Wain-Bantin's real world experience was an asset and while a few students found her expectations were tough they also found she was very willing to help when needed.
