Professor Verner has been said to be an outstanding professor, who is very approachable during class and her office hours. She gives detailed explanations of the course material. However, students would like to see lecture notes posted before class to be better prepared for each lecture.

Students were well pleased with Professor Verner, they liked her teaching style, the use of great examples and analogies. However, her pace was an issue for many students and made it hard for them to understand the concepts. Overall, she is a very enthusiastic, approachable and a helpful teacher. Students also found the TAs to be very knowledgeable and helpful as well.

Students described Professor Verner as having a great teaching style, enthusiastic and very helpful but still needs to pay attention to her speed during the lecture. Many had suggestions for tutorials to be more focused on explanation and discussion of concepts, students also wanted tutorials to be longer to get the maximum help. Many were also concerned about the weighing of assignments.

All of the respondents claimed Professor Verner was one of the best professors they had ever come across; they unanimously agreed that she enthusiastically communicated the rather difficult course material in a very organized and effective manner. Further, they appreciated her genuine willingness to help students succeed by providing additional assistance outside of classroom. Nonetheless, most students were dissatisfied with the lab component of the course; some felt that a clearer marking scheme and greater connection with the lecture material would have been helpful.

Students in this class definitely felt that Professor Verner was committed to their success and was making every attempt possible for that in her instruction. In addition, students cited the professor's enthusiasm and incorporation of questions in lectures quite helpful. Problems were noted with respect to size and significance of tutorials. Some felt that the lab component needed better organization.

Many students found Professor Verner to be one of the best instructors at UTSC. They appreciated her caring nature, always available to help students and answer any questions. Her enthusiasm for teaching shone through and resulted in making the difficult material understandable. Many students found her exams to be fair and her style of teaching clear and informative. A few felt that the Teaching Assistants could be more helpful and more examples in class would be nice.

Several were discouraged at the low average on the midterm and felt that not enough was done to address it. Labs and TAs were cited as very inconsistent and even students with 'good' lab TAs were aware of this problem.

Students in this class felt it helped in their understanding of chemistry, particular building on material they may not have understood clearly in the first term. They appreciated Professor Verner's flexibility and willingness to adapt around the best ways of reaching the class and holding their attention. Several noted dissatisfaction with the lab component of this class and as students considered the grading it in the labs to be arbitrary and unfair, it's no wonder several also thought it was worth too much.

Students were very pleased with Professor Gentleman's accessibility and willingness to provide extensive office hours and help out of class time. Although many felt the material was extensive they felt Professor Gentleman handled it well with detailed notes, available quite early in the course, and succeeded at simplifying concepts as far as was possible. Some felt the lab portion of this class was not as valuable as it might have been.

Many students repeat that Professor Gentleman's in-class demos made the course far more interesting for them. They appreciated his organization and clear explanations. Several students in this class (as with the other section) were unhappy with grading and made various suggestions aimed at alleviating that.
